How live subtitle & caption translator works

Choose the language you hear and the language you want to read. Start the microphone to read live subtitles and bilingual captions in three steps.

Step 1

Choose your caption language

English speech and Nepali captions are selected. Confirm the selectors, or change the languages for a different direction.

Step 2

Let the microphone hear the speaker

Start recording and allow microphone access. Keep the speaker close to the microphone; this page does not automatically capture another browser tab or meeting app.

Step 3

Read and check the translated captions

Read live subtitles alongside the original transcript. Stop recording when you want to review a name, number, or instruction before continuing.

Follow live speech with translated subtitles and captions

A spoken explanation can move quickly. Real-time subtitle translation gives you a written view of the conversation in a language you understand.

About the live subtitle & caption translator tool

Follow a English explanation without waiting for someone to repeat it in Nepali. JotMe captures speech through your microphone and shows Nepali captions alongside the original transcript. Read back a name, date, or instruction before the conversation moves on, or select Voice for spoken output.

About JotMe

Use this page to try reading live speech across languages. For meetings across your apps, JotMe's desktop app brings live translation together with transcripts, meeting notes, and follow-up, helping you carry the conversation into the work that comes next.

When translated captions help

Use translated captions when you want to listen to the speaker and read the meaning at the same time. For this browser trial, keep the speaker close to the microphone.

Follow a lesson in another language

Read a teacher's explanation in your preferred language while keeping the original wording available. Look back at a term or instruction when the lesson moves on.

Read along during a presentation

Place the microphone near the presenter and follow translated captions on your screen. Use the captions to check a product name, date, or next step during the talk.

Keep face-to-face conversations clear

Put a laptop between you and a visitor or colleague. One person speaks near the microphone while the other reads the translation; change the source language when the speaker changes.

Connect new words with their meaning

Compare the original speech with its translation during language practice. Revisit a phrase in the transcript and see how it was expressed in the other language.

Live subtitle and caption language combinations

Choose a language pair to read live subtitles and translated captions. Each page opens the same demo with those languages selected.

FAQ

How do I translate English speech into Nepali captions?

The demo opens with English as the spoken language and Nepali as the caption language. Allow microphone access, start recording, and read the original transcript alongside the translated subtitles.

Can I hear the Nepali translation as well?

Yes. Select Voice in the same demo for spoken translation. Check the language selectors when changing modes; Basic and Premium display translated captions.

How are translated captions different from live transcription?

Live transcription writes speech in its original language. Translated captions add another language for the reader. For example, English speech can appear as an English transcript alongside Spanish captions on this page.

Can I translate captions from a meeting or another browser tab?

This browser tool listens through your selected microphone. It does not automatically capture audio from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or another tab. Try it with a nearby speaker; for translation across your meeting apps, explore the JotMe desktop app.

Which languages can I use for bilingual captions?

Choose the spoken language in the source selector and the language you want to read in the target selector. Available spoken languages depend on whether you select Basic or Premium. The selectors show the languages available for your current model.

Can I try live subtitles online for free?

Yes. Try caption translation within the allowance shown in the demo. Each mode shows its usage rate; you can change modes before recording.

Will these captions appear over a video or become an SRT file?

The original transcript and translated captions appear inside this page. This live tool does not overlay subtitles on a video or create a timed SRT subtitle file. For speech in an existing recording, use the video-to-text translation tool.
